Checklist: Use this checklist to be sure you have included all of the vital aspects: Is this the climax of the story? I want to add other chapters between those that you have seen and this one. I want this to be the climax to the story. Is this where the CC succeeds or fails? Yancy both fails and succeeds. He finally finds those responsible for the fire that killed his family. He doesn't get the revenge that he had once sought because one man had died the other was in a home. He meets his brother on his death bed. Is this where the dilemma is resolved? I think that the his anger and longing to be reunited with his brother does resolve the crisis throughout the story line. Does the CC show his/her true character? I think that the way he deals with the loss of the lifetime of anger will show him as a more mild man. Does the ending add up and make sense? Yes, I want to introduce other traits and sides to Yancy by the end creating a complete character. Do we see an after snap-shot of the CC? I found this. I wanted to show how his life-time of seeking revenge causes ageing. Does the climax taper down to closure? Yes, I have not written it yet, but I have this in my mind's eye. Practical Exercise #6: After reading the objectives "The Climax" , write a brief synopsis of the final crisis. (Climax). Post it in "Assignment Forum for Exploratory Writing" as a "bitem." Name your post: PE#6 and your name. Yancy has had a full life, and now he finds him self turning the new melanoma still a Kentucky Criminal Investigator. He had helped catch more than a thousand criminals, but the ones that he longed to catch the most can not be jailed or executed. The men that killed his parents were nearly untouchable. One was found in the commentary on the out skirts of town. The other was elderly living in an assistant living home. He has to make the decision to bring the one elderly man in, or let the man die of old age and die in a world of dementia. Yancy finds his brother that was separated after the fire. I think that this will be at Yancy's death bed. Yancy dies at 52 of lung cancer. The ending will have a bitter and sweet ending. Reuniting family and giving up old obsessions of revenge allows Yancy to say goodbye to the world with a long needed peace. |
