A piece urging people to move toward a positive change for us all. |
Today is March the 16th of the year 2013, but I wonder how many more March 16th's will our species be allotted? Do we deserve even one more at the rate we are destroying the very planet that allows us to live here? Mother earth hangs her head and cries as we stomp her to oblivion, and in doing so we destroy ourselves. The first thing I did upon waking up today was, as always, to take my beautiful little brat out for her morning walk. The sky was blue, radiant, endless, just as it should be. The air so fresh and clean, and what a nice breeze to blow through your hair and jolt you awake. Vibrant, radiance, perfection; the only form of true perfection here on this planet. I look in the distance and I see two trails left behind from what would seem like the average plane, but that it is not. These planes are sent not for travel, or for a branch of military, but specifically to spray out a chemical emission. These are not contrails that evaporate nearly instantly, in case anyone doesn't know the difference. Honestly most people don't and they want it that way. Well, two isn't that bad, right? At least there aren't more of them. So my furry friend and I continue to walk, observing the trees and the birds and the little beauties in life that are so terribly easy to miss. As she stops to check the latest pee spots as if it would be the last time she ever did, I couldn't help but keep an eye on the sky. Already there are ten more trails at the very least. Not only that but the first two were already beginning to expand and sink down ever so slightly. A part of me always hopes and slightly expects that they will just disappear, but they never do. A spark of anger jolts me into continuing the walk, maybe, just maybe, I can be like everyone else and ignore it. Oh, who am I kidding it's killing me and it's been maybe five more moments. How many more can there be you ask? Try a full grid line set in across the sky, numbering in over 20 trails. How the hell! They do it so fast, so quiet, so inconspicuously, it's no wonder they are getting away with such a crime on humanity! At this point I'm furious! People are mercilessly spraying chemicals into the sky, and for what? Supposedly to stop global warming? Right, that makes sense, putting more chemicals in the air. That will most certainly reduce green house gasses and pollution and emission. It couldn't possibly just add to the problem and hurt even more people. It makes sense how most of the soil, people, and even our pets and air are contaminated by one chemical or another. Whether it's aluminum from the chem trails or whether its smog from the factories or whether its simply carbon monoxide and emissions from wasteful vehicles. It's in you! Forget, "you are what you eat." Now it should be, "you are what you breathe." Now I've finally finished my walk and retreated back inside to begin my search for a job. In other words, I'm taking part in the modern day proverbial wild goose hunt. How delightful to find that there is as little opportunity in this broken system as previously before, but to my surprise a reasonable option arises. A breakfast attendant at a near-by hotel. "Well I'll just go right now before any one else catches on to this!" I put on my clothes and do up my hair, put my resume and my information all together and here I am. A perfect little cog ready to be put in the wheel. Now with my bag and my mandarin orange for a quick breakfast on-the-go, I traipse out the door and with a smile on my face I begin the trek to Best Western. All is well and I'm even a little excited, but you guessed it, as I always have, I had to look up, I had to see the sky. What sky? There were so many trails already expanded and more still being sprayed out. If I didn't know any better I would think that it was simply a cloudy day and that it might even rain. How wrong I would be. It seems the trails have morphed into some sort f massive chem cloud that covers the entire sky. Yes, the entire sky, where there was previously not one cloud. WHAT ARE WE DOING? Does no one else see this? Does no one else care? I look to my right and I see car after car after car after car. . .pollution, litter, waste, and people. People who have no idea that they are part of the destruction of the only that really matters. Yes that is the American way, or shall I say the human way. Waste, destroy, and profit. I hang my head with no more smile or excitement and begin to sneeze as I am asthmatic and quite sensitive to the air and allergens in it. (think about that if you have an asthmatic child, will they even be able to survive 10 years from now?) I suppose I will be one of the first wearing an air filter mask when it comes to that. And don't be so naive as to think that it won't come to that. The rest of the trip went by rather fast, I no longer had the urge to see the sky, or to observe the beauties of life. I simply made it there, filled out my application, and walked back home. All I wanted at this point was to simply go back inside where I'm somewhat away from the pollution. I ask you again, What are we doing? Do you have kids or do you want to? Well guess what, they may not even have a world to live in. Why? Because you were wasteful, greedy, and because you didn't care. WAKE UP! We have one planet, one set of resources, and only one chance to do as we wish with it. The earth has been thriving up until the point of modern society. Global warming didn't exist until us. Why can't we give up just a few things? If not for the good of society for yourself, for your family, for your kids. We have the technology for electric cars, efficient energy, hydroponic gardening. Why aren't we using it? There is no longer any reason to live in this archaic sense that these extremely finite resources are going to last forever. Even if they could they're simply no good for us.We can stop this, we can change the future. }BUT WE NEED TO CARE! Please, please, for all of us. From one human being to another, think about what you're doing. Think, what am I doing that is hurting the earth. Now think how many people are doing exactly what you're doing? Now think of the factories, the chem trails, the water depletion. Can you see where that leads? The easiest, most direct way to put it, is . . . extinction. Now is the time for change! I urge you to stop and think about everything you could be doing that is harming the earth, YOUR earth. Your cleaning products, your car, using all the electricity and water you can handle, and yes recycling counts too. There so many solutions, all you have to do is look, and care. I know you can do it, after all, the future of our species depends on it. |
