Suspect who we are,
But know who we are not.
Precious threads can’t mend a lie.
We can’t have what we have not.

Entwine your fingers with a fool.
It’s important to know who’s who.
Know the eyes of the leaders you admire,
And be wary of who looks to you.

Not seen and never heard.
Not an iridescent caged bird.
Not until gone and learned to fly,
Does the caged oppressor wonder why?
