the contours
of my face
hair plastered
around my neck
clouds crashing in anger
lightning striking
all around
the turmoil
of my heart
finally breaking free
from its cage
unable to be contained
any longer
this brain
wants to forget
this heart

the calm
to the storm
chasing after
what'll never be
