We all have secrets we can't share |
The door to the interrogation room opened suddenly and Eric stomped in. His short dark hair looked like it couldn’t decide whether to let the hair gel tame it or not and Sarah wished once again that he would have taken her advice to let it be messy. It suited him best. He threw a file on the table, slowly took a sit opposite her and opened it. She was about to say something, but he cut her off. “Marian Simmons, Patrick Morrison, Derek Payton” he placed 3 pictures in front of her. “Eric I don’t…” “Do not address me with such familiarity” he cut her off again this time his voice cold and distant. Sarah straightened in her chair and stared into his grass green eyes. Today she felt none of the warmth. In comparison her grey eyes usually looked cold and right now she hoped that hadn’t changed. “Detective Sullivan, am I supposed to know who these people are?” her tone now rivaling his. “I’d assume so, since you killed them” “Killed them?” she frowned “and you believe that?” He didn’t answer. “You know me” she said softly. “How could I possibly know you? Sarah Ashton doesn’t even exist. I checked” Sarah’s frown deepened. She was silent for a long time. “I guess this is the part where I say ‘I want a lawyer’ “. As if by magic the door opened moments later, a man entered and handed a piece of paper to Eric. “This way miss Ashton” he gesture towards the exit. It was Eric’s turn to frown. “Who are you?” She smiled a mysterious smile, but never said a word. Sarah leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. “I’m sorry” she whispered in his ear before she walked out of the room. Word count:298 |
