You turn to the one who gives you laughter and fun
The one who will see you through the rough and the smooth
The one who knows you have nothing to prove

You talk to your friend, you tell them your woes
Your friend is the one who'll never tread on your toes
When all seems too much and you need a shoulder
Your friend is the one to help remove the boulder

Holding your hand with the highs and the lows
This is how your special love grows
Always being there with a hug and a kiss
This is the friend you will always miss

If your friend ever goes away
You know you can call any time night or day
But you always show you are there for your mate
Especially when you go out on a date

Romance blossoms and love shines through
You knew one day that this would come true
The dreams you held dear of your very good friend
The messages you give, shows your love won't end

You give your heart to this person near
And you no longer have to live in fear
Even if you are running late
