The sky is dark and grey,
The air around me is dank.
It must be the Northern breeze
That blows gently today.
All the faces I see are blank
As the people begin to freeze.
Outside, today, is very cold.
I have a winter jacket on
And yet I still feel the bite.
The bitterness is making me feel old;
My hair, fortunately, isn't gone,
But if it stays this frigid, it might.
In the shade, I fear
That my teeth will chatter
Louder than they are
And that everyone will hear.
I'll make so much clatter
That I'll sound like an old car.
The sun doesn't really help
It's only a few degrees hotter.
I can still see myself talk,
And see it when I yelp,
As I run for warm water
Before my fingers lock.
Frostbite begins to set in.
Blackness starts to develop.
I hope I won't have to lose
Any part of my face; my chin
The blackness begins to envelop.
Now I have to choose...
