Zimmerman Walked Lots of people are feeling angry this morning While others are feeling vindicated this morning Zimmerman walked! Lots of Black mothers and fathers are hugging their kids this morning Still other mothers and fathers have never felt safer for themselves and their kids this morning Zimmerman walked! Lots of lawyers, judges, and pundits are shaking their heads this morning Yet other lawyers, judges, and pundits are digging into their law books and court cases this morning Zimmerman walked! Police in many cities and towns are braced for riots and mayhem this morning For many, justice seems to be on the side of murder this morning Zimmerman walked! Many Christians are fervently praying for comfort for the Martin family this morning And, still others are giving praise to God for the verdict that set George free this morning Zimmerman walked! Black men and women in America are heartbroken and less safe in the American way this morning Black boys and men in Florida lost their battle in court to be truly equal in America because “stand your ground” is still the law this morning.
