Poem about my grandfather
He sits & he stares,
More often, he sleeps.
He gets so confused,
We want to weep.

For a mind used to sharpness,
Now dulled by time,
Whenever he wakes,
A fresh hell he finds.

What day is it now?
Which grandchild are you?
Where was I going?
Oh! The things I once knew.

No easy remembering,
What once was a breeze.
I guess now it's time,
To give up the keys.

Oh! Help me up...
What's that? A cane?
Surely you're joking...
Stairs, what a pain.

He's had a lifetime most full,
With children galore,
Laughter & love,
Here's hoping for more.
