A poem about the pleasures and pains of pill addiction.
My pleasure, my pain, both of these you are.
Reliving your torment through memories and scars.

You made me complete, you completely made me.
For the happiness you brought, there was a fee.

You took over my thoughts and demeaned my morals.
Opened the gates of hell, the bottles lid my portal.

You felt like warmth and love. You brought a new being to society.
I pledged I would forever follow you, escaping my sobriety.

You made me laugh in the face of sorrow.
Erasing my fears of tomorrow.

My drug, My love, you've left your impression.
On my life, my values, these words my confession.

Like a garden in the dessert, thriving without rain,
your toxins feel like hydratation running through my veins.

As much as I once worshiped you, now you must go.
Pleasure you brought, pain now replaces, this is so.

You brought me to a level not visible by man.
Never will I stoop so low again, by this I stand.

Trying not to listen when you whisper in my ear.
Your majesty and powers.... falling I fear.

If I fall I'm afraid your will can keep me down.
Your might is such, that in your ocean I drowned.

Gasping for air, begging to turn back time.
Please forgive me, I want badly to walk the line.

Let my strides be steady on the way to a new chapter.
My soul has been spared, no longer in your rapture.

I sold my soul to devil, in pill form.
Forever, your blanket of security, I will morn.

You've condemned me to a life of struggle, daily put to the test.
In my heart you are buried, In my my head you never rest.
