Apathy Knows

         There are various ways to reach the public. I use my blog and Face Book as two main mediums of writing my thoughts. Though this is my first time writing here I realize I missed an opportunity to reach thinkers, those who write and those who read. Thank you for giving this a critique in advance and what is shared will be considered. The pen is mightier than the sword in my opinion.
         Since I have lived I have had the opportunity to live in other countries and to visit many countries and I have relished the different flavor that humanity has to offer. I have met people from all over the United States and have done much reading. I am concerned that the changes in America seem not to be random that an individual may seem over time but these changes seem to be orchestrated. This concerns me. America's patriotic tenacity of spirit seems to be weakening.
         I am proud that America supports the troops. I served in both the Air Force and Marine Corps and having public support is encouraging. But there is more to patriotism. An American need also be concerned with what's happening within his/her country. In my opinion we are hacking away at ourselves through the medium of complacency/apathy, politics/policies, justice/objectifying, misinformation/no educating, eroding constitution/ reinterpreting constitution, deception by omission/corporate greed to name a few. As can be seen this is not a simple challenge requiring a simple solution. This is highly complex, non-linear, challenge requiring a solution that will embrace, through the process of time, working through the varied challenges America faces.
         One thing is certain, working together will be essential. Not just one person leading the way but the building of teams and communities to help work on these issues. Approval needs to come from the top. Just as in an organization there is no change unless the CEO supports the change. America won't change until the President supports the change. Sadly though leadership is lacking. Much has been written about good leadership and we are witness to poor leadership in our government leaders. There is a perceived separation between government status and Americans. Seems the needs of the country are objectified and not taken seriously. The government pursues its own agenda and I haven't figured out what that is at this time. Trust is essential to a team as it is expected from our government. What happened? Lies and deception with different spin on things to get your way have proven not to work. Why do you continue?
         America, is it possible the government continues its insanity because the people as a whole do not challenge this insanity? This is where the pen is mightier than the sword. We need to encourage people to be learners, to read and think, to ask questions without fear and to taste the liberty that was fought for so long ago. This is time for people to think, work together, and hold the government accountable for their mismanagement and poor leadership. This is not a time for violence as then we would have Americans killing Americans and this needs to be avoided. This is the time to hold accountable people who have betrayed Americas trust.
         This begins slowly with each American becoming a self-learner. To encourage reading and writing of thoughts and ideas. We did not get here overnight nor will the solution be quick but over the process of time change will happen. Spread the word and let us work together.
