A tale, take from it what you will
Once can never understand the sacrifices required once you pass the threshold of parenthood. You find yourself willing to cross lines you've never considered before. I didn't understand, until I held my little one in my arms. So small and beautiful. Her father wanted to take her away from me. To think the man I loved so dear would rip away our daughter away from me. She's more a part of me than of him, I guess he couldn't understand. He should have known there was constant work involved when taking care of a youngling. At first he grudgingly helped me, but it wasn't long before he started to plead. Not long after for him to beg. For me to give her up and live the life we once did. He didn't understand. I couldn't leave my daughter.

Eventually he tried to take matters into his own hands. I still can't believe he tried to do such a cruel act. To kill our own daughter, well, I had to choose quickly. And who else would have been able to protect her? It wasn't so hard, she'll have company now. I've managed to drag my lover down to lay right next to her. I can look after them both now. I don't mind the cold, the ice is needed to upkeep their health. Besides, they look so beautiful, their skins outlined with frost. I'd love to join them, but someone has to upkeep their health. Someday maybe. But I should lay aside my wishful thoughts. They'll get sick if the ice melts, and these buckets won't fill themselves with water.
