A test submission taken from a song so it doesn't quite fit in as a straight poem. |
This was written as a song but I wanted to get started with something in writing.com so this is a test as much as anything else... Somewhere, in this town A little girl is going to drown As she walks home, torn and battered Her dreams of love, have all been shattered But she knows, if she is strong That these tears of pain, won't last long, And she can hold her head, hold it high And knows no man's going to make her cry Slowly as her eyes do swell With tears of hate, for that stinking hell Where the man she loved, had another lover She's going back, going back to her brother Her heart is pounding, with mixed emotion As the naked truth, of his lost devotion Layed before her, on his satin sheets And she knows, that was the last time they meet. Somewhere, in this town A little girl she lost her man But she knows, it doesn't really matter Bruised and busted and her heart is flatter Cos when she's home, and with her brother He's the one strong man, just like no other And he's going to make, the world alright And he tells her, when, he turns off her light.... He says you, you've got the power within you You've got the power to win, yeah You know you're going to shine. He says you you've got the power within you You've got the power to win, yeah So no more crying. |
