Won 4th in LH Poet Contest - 9/2013 Prompt: Write a poem having a conversation with God.
I’m going to do it.
         You’re allowed to do as you wish. My gift to you.
….You’re mad.
         Disappointed, it’s not the same.
No doubt, You believe I’m to blame.
         No my dear, in this I share your shame.
How is that?
         How can it not be? You are right, you can’t tangibly touch me.

         If you crave the warmth of a man, cannot feel the great I Am;
         who am I to be angered, by your strife, your perceived danger?
         I understand, though I don’t like it. I wish you stronger;
         want you mightier, than the urges that work to overwhelm you.

But You made me!
         This is true, and why I say “Do as you please”.
         I know your heart, I mold your needs.

It’ll only happen once, just a short break from chastity.
         No need to explain, remember I knew you before you were named.
I know it’s just….
         Look at Me dear, wade in My Love.
         Know that your Father reigns from above;
         drowning you in Unconditional Love.
         I am a jealous God, not threatened by a mortal man,
         so long as you never forget: I am that I Am.

SEPTEMBER 2013 Prompt
Prayer may be defined as having fellowship with God. It is more than simply talking to God, but rather talking with God. It implies a two way give and take. Write a poem having a conversation with God.

Thoughts: I'd been celibate for over a year....6 months of unemployment and threat of losing my apartment led me to.....well, read the poem.
