The Mute Goddess- Chapter 1

CHAPTER 1


The wind slapped the branches of the tree outside of Rhapsody's bedroom
window. The Raven haired teen sat in her window seat and again watched the
events that were going on outside without a word. Not that she could talk.
Not that anybody knew this fact. People just thought she was extremely shy. For as long as she could remember Silver haired dogs had ventured into her backyard that led to the forest. Rhapsody will always watch them, playing together, eating together, and spending time with their pack. The teenage girl wished she had that kind of family. Her real family was never home. Even when they were, they payed her no attention. The teen could not even believe she was their daughter. Rhapsody watched as the silver dog outside her window fought with another dog. Though the other dog has ebony fur. Today it seemed they were fighting over territory, and the territory was her house. Not that they knew this. Rhapsody basically lived by herself and she only ventured out when it was time to go to school. The silver dog was circling the other. The ebony dog was new to her though. Usually only silver dogs ventured into her backyard. For the first time ever one of the dogs looked at her window. The ebony dog stopped growling and stared at her. The silver dog soon followed his lead and let out a low growl when he saw me. Rhapsody guessed they noticed they were fighting on already claimed territory. They then ran away after she waved goodbye.

~next day- Monday~

Rhapsody traveled through the hallways and started mouthing some words to on of her favorite songs.


'Cause she's watchin' wrestling
Creamin' over tough guys
Listenin' to rap metal
Turntables in her eyes

It's like a bad movie
She's looking through me
If you were me then you'd be screaming
Someone shoot me as I fail miserably

Rhapsody unknowingly started to nod her head heading up the hallway.She was oblivious to the break out of a fight down the hall. Rhapsody started to jump up and down and nodding her head still mouthing more words.

She likes the godsmack and I like agent Orange
Her cd changer's full of singers that are mad at their dad
She said she'd like to score some reefer and a 40
She'll never know that I'm the best that she'll never have

And when she walks all the wind blows and the angels sing
But she'll never notice me

She likes 'em with a mustache
Race track, season pass
Drivin' in a transam
Does a mullet make a man

It's like a bad movie
She's looking through me

~down the hall~

The Pine brothers were known for their rude behavior and short tempers. They were always fighting. The students and teachers found this normal because they were twins. Jamad, the eldest, let out a low growl. "What is your problem?!" Valentine shouted finally sick of his moody sibling.

"Well,first, you have made my backside very sore." Jamad stated. " Second, you ate my philly..."

"So what you can get another one!" Valentine shouted. Jamad growled. "Plus you were hanging out with that Raven girl." He mumbled. "Whats it to you?" Valentine asked. "Last night you said i was only your brother and nothing more. Why would you care if i screwed around a bit?" He hissed. "Damn it Val." Jamd hissed back. "That Raven girl is bad news. You know what she did-"

"THAT'S IS A PROBLEM BETWEEN YOU AND HER!" Valentine yelled."NOT ME. YOU. SO YOU CAN STICK UP WHATEVER GRUDGE YOU HAVE AGAINST HER UP YOUR ASS!" Jamad punched his brother in the face. "A WOLF NEVER CHANGES THE COLOR OF ITS FUR JACKASS!"

Valentine Slammed Jamad on the floor and started repeatedly punching Jamad in the gut.Students made a circle around the two and cheered. Jamad head butted the red haired menace and spat on him. The fight escalated into using knives as weapons. Jamad sliced his knife in the air and slashed Valentine's arm while Valentine stabbed him in the leg. Jamad fell and Valentine started jabbing him in the face. The teachers and the security guards finally broke through the crowd and pulled the boys apart. But alas, they could not stop Valentine from slashing Jamad's arm. Jamad was about to retaliate when he saw one of the most peculiar things he had ever seen. Valentine followed his lead and stared at a Tall raven-haired girl who was clearly in her own world. The crowd and the teachers soon followed their lead and smiles tugged at their faces.

~back to Rhapsody~

There she goes again with fishnets on
And dreadlocks in her hair
She broke my heart, I want to be sedated
All I wanted was to see her naked

Now I'm watchin' wrestling

I can't grow a mustache

Suddenly Rhapsody heard an eruption of laughter.The girl looked back to find the whole student body staring at her and a bloody guy coming towards her. "Hi' i am Val" He said. Rhapsody Gave a piercing scream and ran down the hallway. The hallway erupted into laughter once again and the boys were taken to the police
office.

Rhapsody stopped for breath once she was in her English class. That was scary.
She thought. The scene of the guy covered in blood flooded the girl's mind. Rhapsody was so stressed. That lterally scared the shit out of her. Rhapsody was just so scared. Next everything went black. It took Rhapsody a moment to realise that she was conscious. A blackout had occurred. But that was not the
most surprising thing. She was glowing. Like literally glowing. Ashen faces stared back at her as tears welled her eyes. The girl jumped out of a nearby window shattering the glass and ran.

~the Pines~

"You idiot!" Jamad yelled. He and his brother were in the police station in the processing room. "What the hell are you dickin' about now Jamad?" Valentine replied agitated. Jamad glared at his twin. "YOU DO NOT JUST GO UP TO SOMEBODY WHEN YOU ARE HALF DEAD!" He yelled. "YOU PROBABLY SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF HER!"

"WHY DO YOU CARE?!" Valentine shouted. "YOU LIKE HER OR SOMETHING?!"

"WHY DO YOU CARE?!" Jamad snapped. " WHEN WE GET OUT YOU ARE APOLOGIZING TO THAT GIRL!"

"WHY IN THE HELL I GOTTA APOLOGIZE FOR?!" Valentine snapped back. "I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE SHE LIVES!"

"Well we will just have to find out won't we?" Jamad said calmly.

~outside the processing room.~

Detective Morris massaged his forehead. The twin brothers he brought in earlier have not stopped trying to kill each other since they got to the station. Already five times multiple police officers had to pull them off each other. Just then Morris' cell phone rang.

~few minutes later.~

Morris walked into the processing room where the twins were involved in a stare-down. "Hey! you're free to go!" he yelled thankful to be getting rid of them. Morris watched as the two boys made their way out of the station.
