A twisted poem about a lady who makes many choices in an effort to escape what she faces. |
-A Woman in Suffering- by Keaton Foster She stands Legs spread Blood drips Her chance At motherhood Slips God’s unrequited gift Meant to be skipped She is just not ready Her life All strife The curse of her heck The wanting ways All which she has come to regret Certainly much more than most She A woman in suffering So many afflictions A man who hates her A father who is ashamed of her A mother who has come to envy her She has made so many mistakes Yet monthly she alone Continually makes the right choice Abstinence if you will Her bruiser of a man likes to beat her She is too afraid to leave him She is too concerned to kill him For a time, but no longer She was sure That she had nothing without him And in her at times illogical mind What she had was better than most He keeps asking for a child An heir to the throne of madness She won’t give it to him Having a child Just to have one Is no reason at all The world that we all live in Hers, mine, and yours Must be left better than found Contribution without questions Despite any and all concern Is really our only chance And she knows that And those by her side don’t They are ignorant animals While she is not Articulation impresses her That is why she loves her own words She is always speaking for herself What she has to say is no understatement Both poignant and pointed Profoundly intelligent from the mind Of someone otherwise seen as ignorant She A Woman in suffering Who is now doing so as little as is required Three to seven days She will be free of her choices At least for a brief time Such time she won’t waste Such time will allow her To plot an adequate escape A new life filled with choices Ones easily worthwhile Awaits She’ll get there She just has to… A Woman in Suffering Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2013 |
