LOVE'S COVE

I sat on the banks of sorrow
Hoping someone would finally come
Walked the sands of unknown tomorrows
Under the heat of a lonely sun 

Lost in my trepidation
Mental seagulls sang of loves end
Tears fell like rain
Remembering old fair weather friends

From the beach of dashed dreams
I looked out on the ocean of hope
Sailed a message in a bottle
Praying someone would find my note

I saw a ship bearing your love
Navigating my coast of despair
Guided by my flickering light
You found your way into my care

At the port call of destiny
We joined hands and became one
Left the beach for the land of promise
Hand and hand; new life begun
