Wrote it in my hotel room after a walk to get coffee. Jan. 16,2013

Grey places

The grey sky above the street
Is like a reflection of my heart
The colour of my hopes and dreams
The ones I had for you and me

The lost look in the sad eyes
Of the old lady on the street
With no where to call home
Can she see that look in me

What good would it do
To tell you I'm sorry
I'm so sorry

Why is it never enough
To tell you that I love you
I love only you

The cold looks that I get
From the people going by
Can they see inside of me
See the damage that I've done

The young couple holding hands
They share a kiss and a smile
I have to turn and look away
Reminded of what might have been

What good would it do
To tell you I'm sorry
I'm so sorry

Why is it never enough
To tell you that I love you
I love only you
