The Wizard's Choice

         The magic flowed through his body giving him an odd tingling sensation as he created a ball of energy in his palm, giving the room a dim purple glow.  There wasn't much in the room, just himself and a fireplace.  But this fireplace was different from all but three others.  The flames were a light green color instead of orange and small whispers could be heard coming from within, encouraging him to jump into the portal.  It was the gate to hell.  Anything that went in died immediately and would go to hell where they would slowly and painfully be transformed into a red fire demon.  There were only three other portals like this, each turning you into a different kind of demon.  But hell was preparing for war.  Soon it's innumeral number of demons would leap from the portal and destroy the human world.  He and three other wizards were sent off to find the gateways of hell and destroy the them but there was no hope of escaping death for these wizards.  It was an honorable sacrifice.  With that final thought the wizard released the ball of energy destroying the gateway to hell and himself.
