We continue on to Chapter 1 and are introduced to Sean, one of the main characters.
CHAPTER 1

Jackson Massachusetts Present Day

The phone rang at precisely 2 AM, jolting Sean out of his nightmare.  Sean moaned and rolled over while at the same time grabbing the extra pillow on his king size bed to cover his head.  Deep down he knew it was the precinct.  After four rings, Sean relented, leaned over and picked up the receiver.

“O'Connor here. This better be good. What, another homicide?  My God, that is the third homicide in as many months.  Right, right!!  I am on my way.

Sean tossed the covers aside and sprang to his feet.    The scattered comforter and bed sheets were the only things in the house in disarray.  One thing Sean liked was order and cleanliness.  He figured that the job would be gruesome and bloody, so he wanted the things he could control to be as he saw fit. Within five minutes, Sean was out of the shower.  He walked back to his bedroom to the walk-in closet.  He quickly found a freshly pressed shirt and tie, then moved to his many suits and grabbed the best looking one.  In another five minutes, he was out the door and backing his Dodge Ram 1500 out of his driveway.  He would be at the scene in another five minutes.  Sean prided himself on being thorough, yet at the same time being as efficient as possible.  He was the best detective in the county and he knew it.  Everyone knew it.
