No Lines

She knew. He thought to himself. She knew what I was.

His people had traveled far across the galaxy to study the planet its inhabitants called, Earth. Revealing who they were was absolutely forbidden.

He was still and silent, stunned. How did she know? What had I done that gave it away?

He stood there in the gleaming white building with its glass ceilings, polished walls and marble blue floors. It was his turn to punch in, but he could only stand there and contemplate the magnitude of his situation.

What will I log in today? Does it even matter? She was so different...from others. He took no notice to those who had taken their place in front of him. He placed his hand over his chest where the pendant she gave him rested.

I can't tell them about her. If they find out that she knows, they'll wipe her mind clean.

"Jerry? Is everything alright?" A woman asked pleasantly as she flipped through the papers on her clipboard.

He turned to the moderator in charge of check-in, "Yes, Catherine, I'm fine. Thank you."

The moderator briefly looked up from her clipboard and motioned him forward. "Please punch in and report to processing."
