A unique poem about a man who writes to open the minds of those few who understand him. |
-About Nothing- by Keaton Foster About nothing It turns out To be something Many many words Lyrical absurdities Within a swirling sea Of logical fallacies Infancy, bred into each idea Redundancy not sparred A point can be made In a million and one ways The vastness spreads out Touching every possible horizon Masterful hypocrisies Folded much deeper inside Neatly placed in a way Meant to be found By only the most Discerning of minds People who live in no box People who hold no Preconceived notion Of what is supposed to be Such relation Is paradoxical by design What is it What does it mean How is this man The one no one sees But everyone comes to feel The one beyond the page Beyond the words enslaved How is he so in tune The answer Quite simple He was created In this way He was forced To become who he is But even with The energy applied There are the smallest Most impervious parts Of who he was before That have been left unchanged Mixed With what he’s become A toxic concoction Of both leaning ideas And reality squared Floods from his fingers Bleeds from his mind Screams from the depths Of his committed heart About nothing Such wondrous realities Created by him A significant madman With a series of dreams Maybe they’ll come true Maybe they won’t Either way He is right here Alive on this earth Doing his part About nothing It turns out To be something Far more important than him Mountains more than us Not everything written Reaches those intended But maybe just a few words A subtle sense of meaning Slowly creeps within Outward bound All that was intended Screams to be received Digital transmissions In an analog world Ahead of their time Such words will become ageless Theories stricken in madness Apply now just as before Those few can relate The others cannot The man with the page Speaks what he feels His soul soars When another replies To you, I truly understand That’s all that he needs All that he requires To keep moving on About nothing Is for a man like him And those few who understand About everything… About Nothing Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2014. |
