The author Chris Crowe uses external and internal conflicts many times in this novel to add to its great depths. One example of an interanal conflict maybe that of Hiram, and his Father who he doesn't quite see eye to eye with yet. The second conflict would be that of R.C. he creates an external conflict by exhibiting his personality. Another external conflict is that Hirams grandmother has just passed away, who he was very close to, this could also be considered as an internal conflict due to the it made Hiram feel. And one final conflict that author Chris Crowe uses and that is the idea of racisim towards people of color in America, this would internal becuase it makes Hiram think more and mor about the life he is living.
