Translation
Long Live the pain that has no end!
The grey-eyed king is lying dead.

The autumn eve was hot and red
My husband came from work and said:

"You know they brought him from his hunt
The body by an old oak they found

I pity the queen, he was young and so brave
Just in one night her hair turned grey!"

He picked his pipe from the shelve by the fire
And for night shift after that he retired

My baby girl I'll wake up from her sleep
Her eyes just like His-just as grey and as deep

The old oak trees sigh through the open doors:
"Your grey eyed king is yours no more.."
