Alone is what you are
with no one else around.
Alone is how you feel
when you're laying on the ground.

Alone is looking just outside,
watching children in the streets.
Alone is standing solemnly,
reflecting all of your defeats.

Alone is coffee cooling
or a cold beer getting warm.
Alone is sitting by a window
while outside there is a storm.

Alone is an apology,
a note left on your desk.
Alone is every word unsaid
when you didn't try your best.

Alone is many voices
each talking about some thing.
Alone is waiting for a call
but that phone will never ring.
