THE
HUMAN LIFE EXPERIENCE
Humans have the unique
opportunity to not only live, but to experience
. . .
Gold
in the rays of sunshine which nourish life;
Silver
in the raindrops which water the Earth;
Awe
in the weightless paper wings of a bright orange butterfly;
Hymns
in the soft snore of a faithful dog;
Moonbeams
stored up in the firefly's glow and gently released from the Luna
moth's wings;
Lullabies
in the distant, metered call of a Barn Owl somewhere in the darkness
and a strange but pleasant sense of order when his mate softly
responds;
Miracles
exploding from the lungs of a newborn child;
Regeneration
in spring's first blooms;
Peace
in the tiniest crinkle of snowflakes as they collide in midair;
Joyfulness
in the giggles of little children as their parents pretend they don't
see them hiding behind the curtains -- again;
Sweetness
dripping from Heaven in the dewy green grass of a spring morning;
Flames
leaping from the torches of a red hot poker growing happily neglected
in the corner of the old Home place;
A
sense of belonging in the lichen-covered lettering of an immigrant
ancestor's headstone;
Intention
in the Fibonacci sequence and its presence throughout nature;
Order
in the chaos of the stars that twinkle brightly on a cold, clear
autumn night;
Delight
in the rainbow of colors that paint the sky at sunset and again at
sunrise;
And
a sense of wonder at how it all came to be . . .
