Leave us be
It is us alone
That will decide
The position
Place
And the justice
For our people
Those potent words
Spoken by a leader
Of a Hebrew nation
Facing threats of annihilation
Living each day under the gun
A once peaceful people driven
To become least peaceful of all
There is an ancient war
One started before our time
Obliteration in one form
Or many other kinds
Is all that will end
What so many others
Have willingly begun
Such violent races
Living in limited spaces
The holiest of land
Agued by man
And heathens in kind
God above won’t step in
His mind is tied
His hands are bruised
This kingdom for fools
He won’t come to rule
Killers of all kinds
Weapons so designed
Aimed by madness
Very inaccurate sadness
Rocket power delivers
The impact is always great
The explosions lay
Everything to waste
Everyone is an enemy
Because anyone
Can be a victim
The blood of so many
Stains the ground red
In this area it seems
That there is only death
Only the end
The cradle of civilization
Has become a wasteland
For far too many nations
Faith and hope
Are no longer born here
They are grudgingly murdered here
I often wonder if this is right
Just as I know that it’s wrong
I myself am a man between
Neither Jew nor Jihadist
Neither moderate nor extremist
I am of the faith of choice
Brothers of one true kind
Made up of so many
I don’t kneel to any deity
I don’t bow to any master
Instead I raise my hands
To the Heavens above
I whisper my words of faith
There has never been a need to yell
I do my very best to understand
As I’m sure God does the same
For all of my life
This has worked
For all of my life
This has been my spiritual way
But there is one thing
One variable that I cannot ignore
One truth that I have come to adore
My wife, and my two children
The co saviors of my very soul
All of them are Jewish born
And because of that fact alone
I myself have come to decide
That I’m on the side of those
Who have been threatened most
On the side of those I refuse to lose
If it came down to it
And my God I hope it never does
I would kill anyone who dared
To stand at the foot of my door
With a weapon in hand
I would kill anyone
Who tried to kill them
With wildly aimed projectiles
I would murder whole towns
And entire cities to save them
Does that make me a bad man
I don’t think that it does
Just like the enemy of my kind
I would do whatever it takes
I would just prefer to do it first
There are only so many threats
That a person or group can face
The leader of the Hebrew nation
Knows what he is doing
If comes down to protection
Via decimation
In support I will of course stand
My family and I
Three Jews and one Christian
May be on the other side of the world
But to us, and most profoundly me
That changes nothing…
