I know who you are

I know who you are...

“This isn’t possible.” shaking her head as she shivered.
“It is.” the voice answered crisply.
Ice travelled throughout her body ending in her stomach.  Looking quite pale, she scurried away.  Not quick enough though.
“I’m not letting you go.” the voice called after her, you could almost hear the smile in it.
She tripped and started to cry.  The voice rounded on her, circling and taunting her, “I’m not letting you go.  I’m not letting you go…” over and over it repeated.
There was no body that went with that voice, but she knew.  “I know who you are!” she cried.  “Leave me alone, I’m not responsible for what happ…” but the voice cut her off. 
“I know who you are!” it yelled back at her, over and over, taunting and terrifying her. 
She felt a hard thump on her back, knocking her back down again.  Something started pulling at her legs, dragging her.  Her heart racing, panicking in blind terror, she screamed though no one could hear.  She was in a small country cemetery after all.  Flailing and kicking, she screamed high piercing screams.  Finally, she kicked out and felt her legs go free.  She scrambled to her feet, trying to run while doing so, and finally upright, she burst into full speed towards the gate. 
Falling flat on her face from the painful bang to her shins, she gasped for breath as the wind was knocked out of her.  The hair on her neck prickled on end, and a wave of fear crawled over every cell in her body.  She felt caustic hot breath near her right ear, “Where do you think you’re going?”

At first light, the officer walked through the gate after spotting the missing woman’s car, noticed drag marks on the ground.
