a vent about dealing with anxiety.
Choice words

plucked from a static brain

approach the open air

They are confident,

yet I cower behind them

On the surface

A friendly conversation

However

I struggle to keep my nervous dwellings

Hidden from you

My mind is a war zone

Prepped for battle with weapons and shields

Excuses and reassurances, so easy to say

because I am not allowed to feel

anything but okay.

Anxiety.

A vicious panic

that swallows you whole,

asking questions you can't answer

only to fill your ears

with hallow remarks

It burdens me everyday

Though it is not my handicap

I refuse to lose to myself

Inhale.

Exhale.

I push through the webs of worries

strung up in front of me

I'll be just fine.
