One of my goals for 2015 is to try to write in as many poetry forms as I can. |
2014 was the year that I really started getting into poetry. I'd written poetry before but it was rubbish: it didn't follow any rules and it was nearly always painful to read. But when I broke my foot in August, I found myself having a lot of time on my hands. So, I took up a few poetry challenges on WDC and ended up writing about 50 poems before I got my cast taken off. People actually liked a lot of them, too! I've learnt a lot about poems and poetry over the last six months. Therefore, even if I do nothing else in 2015, I've vowed that I will continue my poetical journey. I have a lot to learn and explore still, and I want to do just that this year. As such, below is a list of poetry forms (traditional and invented) taken from Shadow Poetry . One of my goals for 2015 is to try to write in as many of these forms as I can. I am not going to put pressure on myself by saying I will attempt them all. There is a lot of them, some will be hard and I've yet to look at what all of them are. I've already tried quite a few, but I am starting afresh for this year. I'm posting this list here for two reasons: 1) As a reference point for me to update as I go a long, and 2) in case anyone wishes to join me on this journey - if you fancy it please let me know. It might be fun to do it with others! Traditional forms ▼ Invented forms ▼ |
