The spark
Strife
It starts
Living
While dying
In between
Existence
Thus everything
Ultimately nothing
The game
Well played
By losers in kind
Every time
The odds
Stack up
God high above
Wants it all back
No
Is not an answer
Not one
That he’ll accept
His will
His might
Upon our lives
We are pawns
Playing along
Begging for more
When nothing
Is all that there is
Or will ever be
Barbaric I know
Me
A fatalistic linguist
Speaking the truth
To every liar known
Upon the mountain
It must be heard
At the deepest depths
It will resound
I’m right here
Doing my part
Biting the clock
Igniting the spark
Creating an inferno
Out of retardant treasures
As always unsolicited
Anecdotal heart
Fighting the war
Waging a cause
Standing up for me
Standing up to him
All of these things
Lending me life
One beat at a time
All that is me
Follows kind
All of it
Is because of this
Neither simple
Nor vastly complex
Just a reality
To be dealt
I’m here
And while I am
I’ll do what I must
I live as needed
Even if many wish
All that I am
Be rescinded
Life
The spark
Strife
The start
Living
While dying
In between
Existence
Thus everything
Ultimately nothing
Anecdotal heart
At awkward times
Seen as wasteful
Assumed not wanted
Foreign is this cavity
A travesty in the making
A new way of thinking
But again
Here I am
Because of each beat
Because of every belief
Good, bad, indifferent
Challenging God’s
Over abundance
Continuing on
Long after meant
To have been stopped
A lion in the wilderness
Of lambs to be slaughtered
Blood will be everywhere
Death will not be spared
The end will come through
Each line meant for you
The ones out there
In the widening clear
The ones who have an idea
A daring feast of pontification
And a brilliant display of alliteration
For me and for themselves
And for all that God
Brings into being
By whatever the means
And all that he deems…
