Just a sort of glance through the eyes of the legendary Greek deities. |
Legends Spun from the fabric of the sun Falling through time Growing brighter With the death of familiarity Comes the birth of fantasy Those divine inspirers of marble Firm in the hearts of the ancient Now merely a wish A dream of human perfection Stories Reaching across centuries To turn modern lips up into a smile When beheld in the mind's eye now They saunter through the old Greek marketplace Among pearly grapes Philosophical smirks And dancing golden hair They must have adorned themselves In white alone The color of light And enlightenment Sitting to dine in shimmering castles Too bold for the human mind to encompass In the evenings I imagine They stood upon their balcony Smiling And spread their arms as if to fly Grasping the sunset Commanding the wind to Swim through their golden locks Just so And consider The million shards of humanity Crawling below A million screaming battles to be Good Enough Triggering their humor and Like thunder They laugh |
