Alone

The email sunk all hopes,

Broke a storm weary heart,

Feelings had grown for the bloke…

Now he had disembarked.

Lone

Drifting alone in the calm strait

One doesn’t move quite at all;

But I’d so longed for a shipmate

To hold tightly during the next squall.

Scorching sun’s left me burnt

Lips parched from the salt

Throughout this it’s been learnt

Hearts and hopes need stay in a vault.
