Making soup to counter negativity.
(Can making soup end negativity?
  The tale unfolds of soup in iron pot.)

Mother and Father--five kids under wing;
bicker and squabble went on endlessly.
Making tortilla soup--positive thing.

(Crisis in family--this I do see.
  Insolence, disrespect, sniveling snot.)

Argue and sass strong the oft verbal sting;
no longer do children ride parent’s knee.
Mother and Father--five kids under wing.

(Parents at odds to end long-lasting strife;
  stress took a-hold of them both day and night.)

Father in pique tempted to take a swing;
Mother in state of intense disagree.
Making tortilla soup--positive thing.

(All this dissention cut both like a knife.
  Yet they knew what to do had to be right.)

Varied the outlooks--the Yang and the Ying;
coming together for good was the key.
Mother and Father--five kids under wing.

(So they agreed to use food as a cure;
  sating an appetite to quell a storm.)

While in the kitchen the Mother did sing;
she told her husband to just let it be.
Making tortilla soup--positive thing.

(Rising aroma, enticing for sure;
  this was a solution far from the norm.)

Hers was a brainstorm like life in the spring;
house of content and rip-bickering free.
Mother and Father--five kids under wing;
making tortilla soup--positive thing.

(Bicker and squabble now hide from the heat:
  Parents and kids sense a kind of complete.)

  a form, as far as I know, of my own making.
