On Pointe in Life
The beauty of life among us,
Lying within the sweet harmony of the voice unheard.
Dancing in the footsteps of little known generations,
On pointe in a balancing act never having failed.
The routine of perfection cycles through man by man.
But what of those who fall?
What be of I?
Henceforth my curled toes flatten.
Henceforth I take my final bow and crawl from the crowd of vengeful souls,
My role replaced.
Yet in my pain and humiliation,
My grief all-consuming,
I find myself again upright behind the curtain.
With a gentle leap my wings take air,
And in the fleeting moment,
Behind the grand ballet of worldly judgement,
I dance.
