An unusual poem about Sin, the price we must pay for them and how we can make it right. |
-Sin- by Keaton Foster Sin Within Without By the ounce By the pound Applied light Piled on heavy We all must Without question Further carry What we’ve done And the because Of why we did it We’ll answer For our sins An ounce of flesh Is the price for some A mountain of regret Is the cost for others God above The Devil below Both keeping A total Both know Our truest role Both are aware Of our sins Both past And present Both minute And extraordinary The cruelest of bastards They’ll let nothing slip We can’t escape All that we’ve done Regardless of why Despite how come We’ll gonna pay Harshly I’ll add Sin What we’ve done What we failed to do And all else in between This world is mixed up This place is madness But we still must Not cast any stones We still must Do what is deemed right It’s all that we have All that we can rely on It’s what separates us From animals And in some cases From each other We only get one life One finite ride One chance to do right One chance make up for all That we’ve done wrong Sin Thinking of why And the how come We did what we did God will indeed Question us And we alone must Have an answer Worthy of his interest Appeasing of his judgement Because if we don’t I fear we are gonna pay A price far more Than most of us Are prepared to pay… Sin Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2015. |
