Growing Up

         If only growing up was as easy as it seemed to be. If only I didn't procrastinate my homework I would've gotten a lot more sleep my junior year. If only I could learn how to stop being so indecisive. If only I wasn't so emotional. If only writing wasn't so hard for me. If only I did better my junior year, not knowing that was the only year of schooling colleges would really look at. If only I knew where I wanted to go to college. If only my family had enough money for me to go out of state. If only people would stop looking down upon me for wanting to go to the same college as my boyfriend. If only I had studied for the SAT my mom wouldn't be so stressed over my qualifications for Bright Futures. If only I was nicer to my parents. If only my hard work and character wasn't defined by a set of numbers. If only I didn't have chronic tension headaches I would be able to focus better during school. If only I wasn't so easily frustrated. If only all people at least tried to be nice and held the door for the next person. If only I could have been prepared for how difficult life was going to be. If only I had possessed the knowledge I do today when I was growing up; but I guess that's why they call it growing up.
