A First Sonnet

A First Sonnet

Never before have I attempted a sonnet

It should have some difficulty to then

Paper is intimidating with nothing on it

I hope that I can make it to line ten.

Should I write in Italian style?

People say that's easier,

Maybe they say that to beguile

Me and pretend writing is breezier.

Crap, I'm writing in English mode!

But it's too late to go back, I suppose,

Poetry is a much less-taken road

And harder to keep track of then prose.

Never before had I tried to write 14 poetry lines

But it looks like I've followed all the guidelines!
