Preserving Butter?-Yes you can, but its done a little different
Canning Butter

Please set yourself up before you start.
Take proper care,This is hot!

My mom did this when we were kids.
With possible food shortages, its time
to bring it back.

I do 3 bricks of butter at a time, I like to use
wide mouth jars, easier to get at.
I do smaller jars for table use, and larger jars
for baking.

You will need to sterilize your jars
and place them on a cookie sheet.
Set your oven to 350 for 15-20 min.
This will ensure no moisture is left in jar.
Place your lids and inserts in boiling water.

While jars are being heated, put butter into
a clean pot. Bring butter close to boiling,
stirring constantly, scoop off foam and set
it aside in separate dish. Carefully pour butter
into a glass pitcher, one with a spout. Pour into
jars leaving a good inch from top, try not to get
butter on rim of jar or it wont seal properly. Next,
dry inserts and sealer rings thoroughly, place on jar,
screw rim lightly. Let sit on towel to cool down
it well be sealed when you hear popping sound.
