A free verse poem without much rhyme and ton of metaphors. |
We are young and green Like fresh buds on the vine In a time of trial and transition Much akin to adolescence (Without obscene body morphing) The world is beckoning us To explore, to taste, to venture out Shatter our comfort zone And get a breath of what life can hold We are not guaranteed safety No net lays underneath Ready to catch and cradle us When things go wildly awry No, we walk the tight rope alone And at the end of the day Perhaps we may fall... It will hurt, it may devastate But it is certainly not the end So by all means take chances Go forth into the unknown Dive into the uncharted waters You may find riches or love But the best treasure of all Will be finding yourself |
