The tender and growing night surrounds me,
starlit skies above me radiate their cool light,
upon my face,
my heart sings at the sight
towering pines frame the stellar beauty on three sides,
two oaks and a maple command the fourth
I am a man alone, bathing in nights beauty
my soul is cleansed, I am new again
City skies never moved me, cold in their light
unnatural in their stance and sway
nonspeaking, silent in their lack of glory
no ruffles and swags
remote yet so much closer
Mans' hand pales in comparison
to heavens deft touches
City skies never reached out to me
They towered over and little else
