Horror, terror, having the crap scared out of you. These are the things you come to expect when you read a horror story. My stories aren't as much about spraying blood everywhere (although I don't shy away from my share of bloodletting) they're more about what doesn't happen in the story. I love to end leaving the reader wonder. I have found that the reader's own imagination can scare them more than anything I could ever write. With that in mind, I tend to leave some elements out, allowing the readers to fill in the blanks. The greatest compliment that I can receive is for a reader to tell me that my story made them think.
Oh, and ignore that heavy breathing behind you, it's just me, reading over your shoulder to see your reaction to my story. Don't worry about that dripping sound or your missing butcher knife, it'll all be over soon. :)
