Sheltered within a home and looking at the small creatures of the world prepare for spring
In chaos of pre-spring weather,
Slight mammals and those of feather,
Ride the torrent without complaint
As they live lacking my restraint.
While I gaze thought unwashed window,
Inside my house for fear of snow.

I ponder simple mind of bird
And the weary squirrel winter furred
As they brave natures silly spring.
They leap and fly and chit and sing
though worry not the bite in air
what brings the morrow not a care.

Why the tiny come out so large
To celebrate the winter gone
And despite the potential charge
To again blanket my back lawn.
I inside waiting warmer air
While they find spring already fair.
