Dhaka, Bangladesh 21 May 2016 Due to Cyclone 'Roanu' at last 9 people have been killed and score of people injured while four people have gone missing today, Saturday, 21 May, 2016 in all across four Districts of Bangladesh. Of the nine people killed due to stormy weather of Cyclone 'Roanu', three died in Chittagong, two in Cox's Bazar, one in Patuakhali and rest in Bhola Districts. It has been learnt from sources there that three adult people including a child have been killed in Chittagong District. Of them Kajol Begum and her son Belal Hossain died on the spot at around 4:00pm when their houses collapsed in a hilly area at Salinpur in Sitakunda upazila. Another child named Md Rakib, 11, received a massive hit by a heavy stone falling from an under construction building and died at about 1:15pm. Other three people have been killed in Tajumaddin and Daulatkhan upazilas of Bhola District due to collapse of their houses being hit by fallen trees. Missing of more than 100 people of the District has been reported. Besides, two people have been killed in Cox's Bazar and a 50 year-old woman killed in Patuakhali Districts. One of two in Cox's Bazar District AKM Fazlul Haq, 55, died of severe injury received in the time of getting down from a fishing trawler at Koiarbil at 2:00pm and other one Md Iqbal alias Badal, 27, died after being trapped under his collapsed house. A 50 year-old woman Naya Bibi of Patuakhali District died while her tin-shed house collapsed over her. |
