A tiny poem or story here and there, will fill up this book |
I mentioned Murphy's Law several times this week, so I thought I'd have some fun with it. I came across these thoughts on the internet somewhere. Don't ask me where because I don't know, I changed some of them a bit, and they came from different places! I also added a few of my own. It's all for fun, and that's the main idea of my blog. - After your hands become coated with something, your nose will begin to itch and you'll have to go to the rest room. - Anything, when dropped, will roll to the least accessible corner. - The probability of being watched is directly proportional to the stupidity of your act. - If you dial a wrong number, you never get a busy signal and someone always answers. - If you change queues or traffic lanes, the one you were in will always move faster than the one you are in now. This also works in supermarkets and shops. - The probability of meeting someone you know increases dramatically when you are with someone you don't want to be seen with. This is also the case if you are female and you have gone out with no makeup and wearing your worst clothes and with greasy hair. - When you try to prove to someone that something doesn't work, it will. - At any event, the people whose seats are furthest from the aisle arrive last. - As soon as you sit down to eat, someone will call on the phone. This is also true for the doorbell. - If there are only two people in a locker room, they will have adjacent lockers. - If the seat next to you on an airplane is empty, someone will come to sit in it one minute before the doors close for departure. - The chances of an open-faced jelly sandwich landing face down on a floor covering are directly correlated to the newness and cost of the carpet. - If the shoe fits, it's ugly. - As soon as you find a product that you really like, they will stop making it. Ending this with a little video. Let me know what you think of it! |
After visiting the very first Starbucks in Seattle, I wrote this Acrostic poem. It's a few years old, but I wanted to repost it here, since I was in the mood for COFFEE. Steaming coffee tastes so good. Travelers seek out the coffee shops. Anyone can find their favorite flavors. Roasted coffee beans scent the air. Busy workers fill the orders so well. Understanding coffee lingo is fun. Coffee drinkers gather together. Kitchen coffee is not the same. Starbucks is a wonderful treat. |
I forgot about this blog while it lazily floated in its cyber cloud. You should have seen my childlike delight as I accidentally came across it once again. It's time for an entry. Last year was strange. ...The 'COVID' year. My family got through it without much illness, though we all know people who suffered from the virus. We're all happily vaccinated now. Staying home wasn't so bad. My husband, daughter, and I enjoyed our quality time together, revisiting ideas like painting, baking, binge-watching TV series, and putting puzzles together. Most of all, we shared a lot of laughs. It was fun to have fun and to remember how to laugh. We stayed fit by taking more strolls together, which the dogs truly enjoyed. Of course, these activities happened in our own bubble, so we missed other family and friends. WDC went on as usual. I was proud that "WdC SuperPower Reviewers Group" and its members were there for each other through it all. The friendship in our community grows and grows over the years. "WdC SuperPower Reviewers Group" won the recent Quill awards for Best Group and Best Community. The deep friendships which I developed with Lornda, Nixie🦊, and eyestar~* also grew over the years. I think of them as my WDC sisters. Together, the four of us, along with the other strong "WdC SuperPower Reviewers Group" leaders, keep the group running smoothly behind the scenes. Everyone plays a big part. THANKFUL SONALI Library Class! is one of our biggest cheerleaders. A E Willcox, Elle - on hiatus, Emily, Sum1's In Seattle, Shaye, Choconut, and David the Dark one! are just some of the leaders who never hesitate to jump in and get some work done. 2021 has been great so far. As we all put the good and the bad of 2020 behind us, we get a glimpse of what's to come. Most of all, we can appreciate all of the little things. Little things often get missed within the big picture - as this blog of little writings almost did. It's great to have it back. |

Dancing stars light the night sky in a whirl They twinkle, they dance, they flutter about Around a black hole, they flit and they twirl Like glitter and wondrous magic throughout What causes the look of milk in the sky 'Hundred billion stars light the milky way Home of the Earth, Sun, and planets up high A splash of wonder, a majestic spray Whirlpool so big and so full of bright light Stare out this evening and view such a sight |

Happy Memorial Day To those of you who will be celebrating. Here's a little youtube song for you to enjoy. |
A beach stroll under the warmth of the sun The salty breeze gently delights my nose Small, swift waves surprise my legs for some fun The squishy sand feels great under my toes A seabird glides by with a happy song Kites flutter up from glee children at play Some regal sand castles seem to belong Sun shines on the ocean throughout the day I spot a seashell colored pearly white Decorations of coral dot the sand The water still glistens so very bright Easy strolls on the beach are surely grand Time for some lunch, so it's back to the chair Take in the sights, sounds, and scents in the air A sonnet is three quatrains followed by a rhyming couplet, for a total of fourteen lines altogether. Each line is 10 syllables long. The sonnet has the following pattern: abab, cdcd, efef, gg |
