A poem written about who truly owns our children, A mothers love. |
My Son Does Not Belong to Me My son does not belong to me I do not own him, NO. He was given to me to shape and mold, But my son is not my own. He has and always will belong to the one who sacrificed His own. To the One who shed his blood upon that cross My son I do not own. When the days fly by fast and I fight for control I must always, ALWAYS remember that My son is not my own NO He belongs to the one who created the sun and the moon The one who gave it all for me and you. My sons path is laid out before him already My son does not belong to e He is not my own. When the days seem long and they become too hard I must always remember that This fight is not mine, alone My son does not belong to me My son is not my own. As my son grows older, there are days when all of the weight lays on my shoulders That's when I need to stop and remember My son does not belong to me My son is not my own. When the growing pains of his youth are made clear I must never give up but always persevere. When the worries of tomorrow become too much, I must not ever let my heart give up My son does not belong to me My son is not my own When the road seems tough and becomes littered with tears I must always remind myself that my son is a gift given to me from the One who created it all My son does not belong to me NO My son I do not own He was given to me as a gift He is more precious than gold One that I can only hold for a short time, one I must Shape and mold. But My son does not belong to me NO My son I do not own. |
