The Lord is My Shepherd - paraphrased. |
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever. Psalm 23 (NKJV) Jesus is my protector, my guide, and I shall never be destitute. He gives me rest and renews my strength; through Him I am refreshed. He guards me and keeps me safe. He shows me the correct ways and He is glorified when I keep to them. Even when I walk in the darkest places - when death and sadness are all around me - I will not allow fear to overrule me. For Jesus is with me; His love and His discipline are comforting; they both guide and protect. You bless me and shower me with favour, even when bitter rivals and those that hate me are watching. You mark me out as precious to You and my life is complete in You. Good things, blessings and honour shall follow me throughout my life and Your mercy is never far away. Forever I shall live with You and You with me. |
