Through the Eyes of a Child
Riding
bikes and climbing a favorite tree,
Why can't that simplicity always be?
Believing in magic and fairy tales,
Once we age our innocence fails.
Remember the wonders of being young
Now belief is so far flung.
I miss those days in my youth
Before it was ruined with truth
Childhood is covered in a beautiful haze
It makes me wish I could recapture those days.
To believe so completely and blindly in all
It almost seems like aging from grace make us fall
The wonder of childhood and all of its fun Is somehow corrupted
by aging and unceremoniously undone.
So many are mistreated and made to grow up before their time
I wonder if those parents realize their crime.
And so all parents should treat their children good
Do not steel or ruin their beautiful childhood.
