A poem about life
When you are all Alone
When you are sitting home all alone,
with your mind completely stoned,
staring into the deep dark unknown,
and you try to call God on your cell phone
because you are looking for some answers,
and you never get a dial tone,
or someone picks up the other phone,
and tells you, you have the wrong number,
do you ever wonder if He is really home,
or just the figment of someone’s imagination?

When you think of Christ’s agony
as he was hanging on the crucifixion tree,
with blood pouring from his wounds,
and He cried out, “My God why have you forsaken me?
Why have you left me to die in such agony?
Why have you left me to die all alone?”
Do you wonder if He really died for you and me?
Do you ever wonder how such a love could ever be?
And as you stare into the deep dark unknown,
and try to call God on your cell phone
because you are looking for some answers,
and you never get a dial tone,
or someone picks it up the other phone,
and tells you, you have the wrong number,
do you ever wonder if He is really home,
or just the figment of someone’s imagination.

When you lay upon your death bed
with your life running through your head,
and your loved ones are gathered round
weeping crocodile tears for you,
and you know they can’t wait for you to go
off to the last picture show,
because they want to get their greedy hands
on the gold you have stashed away
in the mattress you are dying on,
and then they leave you all alone,
to stare in to the deep dark unknown,
and you try to call God on your cell phone,
because you are looking for some answers,
and you never get a dial tone,
or if someone picks it up the other phone,
and tells you, you have the wrong number,
do you ever wonder if He is really home,
or just the figment of someone’s imagination?

When you are sitting home all alone,
with your mind completely stoned
staring into the deep dark unknown,
and you try to call God on your cell phone
because you are looking for some answers,
and you never get a dial tone,
or someone picks up the other phone,
and tells you, you have the wrong number,
do you ever wonder if He is really home,
or just the figment of someone’s imagination?
