A poem about true love...
My Beloved
A poem about true Love...

My Beloved
by Sandra Parker

I searched in vain for my beloved, but nowhere was he to be.

I waited eagerly for his presence to set my being free.

I longed for his strong arms around me,

Yearned for his sweet love.

And just the time I thought I found him,

He flew away like a dove.

I cried out to God the Great Creator in total misery,

"Dear Father of mine way up in Heaven is there no one for me?"

"Am I doomed to walk this life,

Alone without a mate?"

"What did I do to earn this hardship?

Is loneliness my fate?"

Then God on High in all his glory inclined His ear to my cry.

"Dear child," He whispered to me gently "Is not all you seek in I?"

"Do I not hold you in your sorrow, and carry you when you're weak?"

"Am I not the one your heart cries out to, for the beloved one you seek?"

"Is not my love alone sufficient?"

"Does it not fill your heart?"

"For you my child are my beloved as you have been from the start."

At Once I stopped my lamentations; I felt His love on me;

For God my Father is my beloved and His love sets me free.

He loves me so fierce and so much that He sent to me his Son;

Who took away my sin forever and set my curse undone.

And how God did this was not easy, for The Son indeed had to die.

But He took His love just one step further out of love for you and I.

God Almighty way up in Heaven resurrected The Lamb,

And showed me that my true beloved is the Great I AM!
